Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream (1999)

...който е повече алтернативен (осезаеми и признати Radiohead-ски влияния), от колкото прогресивен. Хубав албум, но лично аз винаги съм предпочитал "the delerium years". Иначе в този албум е една от любимите ми песни на Steven Wilson - цък.

В подобен контекст често и абсолютно несправедливо се пропуска "A Change Of Seasons". Може да е EP само с една пиеса, но пък каква!? В нея има материал, свирня, емоция и теми за десетина нормални албума. Един от най-внушителните пикове в напредничавата музика.
Каквото е "Thick as a Brick" за прогресив рока, това е "A Change Of Seasons" за прогресив метъла.

Edge of Sanity - Crimson II (2003)

7 години разлика делят двете части и може би за това са толкова различни. Crimson I ще си остане един класически шедьовър, а Crimson II по-слабия му и мелодичен, но сам по себе си силен, брат.

Останал съм с впечатлението, че периодът с Derek Sherinian е подценяван от повечето слушащи Dream Theater. Може би защото "Falling Into Infinity" звучи по-леснодостъпно, но аз пък именно заради това го предпочитам пред "Metropolis pt.2".
